Huh? A synthesizer for the DS? Well it already came out in Japan. I'm guessing it links to  your computer or something. Or maybe it saves synth samples? Wahhh?

I remember Goopy saying something about Korg to me. I'm sure he can clear things up.

"...with it boasting two patchable virtual synths with two oscillators each, a drum machine, a sequencer, and a full range of effects, to name but a few features."

A drum machine too? Cool!

Korg is just a company that makes a lot of music stuff, such as synths and MIDI controllers. I have one item from Korg: the PadKontrol.

Synths don't use samples. Real synths just produce the basic wave forms modified to behave in some way or another to produce sounds. So digital synths essentially do the same thing, but when you're using one in a sequencer or DAW, the controls are just in whatever synth software you have. For digital synths, you can save patches that have all the information about the values of various knobs and whatnot, so it basically can bring that sound up again.

This thing sounds like it could be fun, although it doesn't sound like it could be any competition for professional software.

Thanks for the information, Goop!

Yea I played it... it doesn't have a computer link feature or anything. It's strictly for the DS. You can transfer songs and stuff, also. Its sort of fun to mess around with, but I already have FL Studio for that.

Come to think of it, there is a homebrew midi controller. I forgot what midi controllers do, but this thing can actually link to your computer and be used as a keyboard or something.

MIDI controllers just trigger MIDI signals, like notes and control changes. Basically, if you got, say, a physical keyboard and used it to record stuff in FL Studio as opposed to recording the keyboard's own sounds, you'd be using the keyboard as a MIDI controller.
